Wesley Hickinbotham – ACMA

My name is Wesley Hickinbotham and I have been working as part of Value Added Accountancy since its inception some 8 years ago.

I started in practice as a Trainee Accountant some 14 years ago and after a year training moved onto a firm of Chartered Accountants in my home town of Ilkeston were I stayed for around 3 years. These first four years proved invaluable in building up knowledge and allowed me to form a good sound knowledge of Accountancy.

In July 2000 I moved on to Boots the Chemist Ltd to a position within the Financial Accounting department. During the next nearly ten years I held a number of different positions around the department and gained a huge amount of experience on understanding what it takes to work for such a large company.

In April 2010, my career changed its path and although I am now still working for Boots I have a very different role. I am currently working on a four year long project that will catapult Boots to the forefront of the Health & Beauty world.
